Bognor body - Post mortem inconclusive of dead man

A post mortem carried on a man found dead in Bognor Regis has proved inconclusive.

The middle-aged man was found dead in the afternoon on Monday, August 3 in Waterloo Square near the pier.

Police are treating his death as suspicious and are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

Officers have made extensive enquiries in the area to establish who the victim is and the circumstances surrounding what happened.

Senior investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Steve Johns of Sussex Police Major Crime Branch, is appealing for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the grounds of Waterloo Square during the day on Monday to come forward.
