Bognor Regis Observer sign gets approval

A WALL sign to advertise the new Bognor Regis Observer office has been approved.

Arun District Council’s development control committee agreed the application to install the sign on the north wall of the premises.

Councillors backed the proposal from their surveying and estates department without comment.

Juan Baeza, a council planning officer, told the committee the sign’s design and size were considered to be suitable for the location.

The plastic sign will advertise the joint presence of the Observer and the town’s self service visitor information point in the building on the Place St Maur.

It will be placed a metre above the ground on the brick wall which faces Belmont Street.

Coloured blue with white writing, it will measure 1.8m high and 0.9m wide.

The paper’s logo will be joined on the unlit sign by those of the district council and its Sussex by the Sea website.

The Observer moved into the building last October.
