TWO brave charity workers have taken their fundraising efforts to new heights.

The Midhurst Mind Group has been supporting local people with mental health problems for more than 20 years. After a £3,000 funding shortfall this year they were forced to find new ways of raising money.

So project manager Toni Haynes and group member Pat Dane decided to do a sponsored skydive, financing their own jumps so that every penny raised goes directly to the group.

After a long wait due to poor weather conditions, they finally completed their 12,000 feet jumps.

Pat said: “This is a childhood dream come true for me. I used to practise jumping off the shed roof with a blanket when I was little.

“The Midhurst Mind Group means a lot to me and I wanted to do something to help. The jump was amazing and I loved it.”

Toni added: “It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Thank you Pat for inspiring me to do this!”
