BREAKING NEWS: Woman raped in Selsey

POLICE officers are appealing to anyone who saw an 18-year-old woman near The Lifeboat Inn, Selsey, between 9pm and 11pm yesterday (Monday, July 29) after a report of rape.

Detective Sergeant Russ Burgess said: “We are at very early stages of this investigation and are talking to the victim and witnesses to try and establish what happened.

“She has described the suspect as a white man in his 20s but no older than 27 with short dark hair.

“He was a muscular build and wearing a black top with a hood.

“We are asking anyone who saw a man matching that description in the area or a woman on the beach or near the pub to contact police on 101 quoting serial 1720 of 30/7.”
