BREAKING NEWS: Woman is trapped after collision with school bus near Rogate

FIREFIGHTERS are working to free a woman who is trapped in her car after it was in collision with a school bus on the A272 near Rogate this morning (Wednesday, February 10).

A spokesman for the West Sussex Fire and Rescue service said: “Steady progress is being made to release the casualty using hydraulic equipment.”

The bus is understood to have been on its way to Churcher’s College at Petersfield, with school children, but it is believed no-one in it was hurt.

The emergency services were called to the scene at 8.10am after reports that a car and a bus were in collision at Durleigh Marsh on the Petersfield side of Rogate.

The A272 is currently closed while emergency services teams work to cut the woman out of her car using specialist equipment.

Police, firefighters and an ambulance crew are at the scene and an air ambulance is standing by.

A fire and rescue spokesman said the road is likely to remain closed for some time.
