Bronze horse heads go under the hammer at Billingshurst

TWO monumental horse heads went under the hammer at Summers Place Auctions’ autumn sale in Billingshurst for £45,000 and £50,000 – double what they were expected to fetch.

They were both bought by the same client over the phone.

The horses will be going to a private European collector.

Auctioneer James Rylands said: “I am pleased with the monumental they were hotly contested and delighted the history of these iconic pieces was reflected in the price.”
