Brothers Benjamin and Oliver Puttick waded to the rescue when a car carrying a man and two women was hit by flood water in Midhurst’s Pitsham Wood.
Watching in horror their mother Pamela Rozario said: “The car came down the road and suddenly the water flooded across the road and the car started to be carried away by the water. Benjamin and Oliver waded in and got hold of the car and pushed it back to where the wheels were touching the ground again. They told the man to turn off the engine and get out of the car. They struggled to open the doors with the weight of the water but the three managed to wade to safety.”
Fire fighters were then called to the scene and managed to tow the Ford Mondeo clear of the flood water.
