Bus routes may be delayed by Olympic torch in Midhurst, Chichester and Bognor

OLYMPICS fans are being warned of possible delays to bus services as the torch arrives in the area on Monday, June 16.

Stagecoach are urging travellers who plan to take the bus to watch the relay through Midhurst, Petworth, Chichester, Bognor Regis, North Bersted and Arundel to check timetables and routes as some services will be affected by road closures and diversions.

The firm’s managing director in the south, Andrew Dyer, said they expect many people to travel by bus to view the procession so to avoid the anticipated traffic congestion and the hassle of finding parking.

“We hope to keep disruption to a minimum but some bus services will face diversions where they reach the Olympic torch procession route,” he added. “There will be updates on our website and available from our helpline so we hope that we can play our part in what will be a proud and memorable day for thousands of people.”
