It’s been an epic journey for Andy Rogers who planted his first vines on the slopes of Tillington seven years ago.
He was hoping that first trial of 800 vines would turn what had been a bit of a hobby into a livelihood not only for himself and his wife Judith but for his children and grandchildren.
And today the family can look down from their Upperton Farm home on 32,000 vines and 2012 marks the first summer of wine sales and events at Upperton.
They start the new ventures this year with a host of special events for English Wine Week from June 2 to June 10, which they hope will really put the farm on the map.
