WHEN Chris Reseigh and her Midhurst Nursery Class children donned their outdoor gear for their Wellie Wednesday trek through town, they had an unexpected treat.

For as they stood looking enviously at all the diggers working away on the building of the new Grange Leisure Centre, they were asked if they would like to have a go themselves.

Mrs Reseigh told the Observer: “It was one of those ‘wow’ moments that Ofsted inspectors are so keen on.

“We were just walking around
the town on our
usual Wellie Wednesday day out.

“We came up to the Grange and just stood with the children on the grassy bank across the road from the building site to let them have a look at all the machines.

“As we were standing there, one of the builders came over and asked if the children would like a closer look at a digger and then he arranged for one to be brought over to us.

“Coincidentally there was a ‘meet the builders’ event going on in the Grange when members of the public were finding out more about the development and someone from the Grange asked if our children could have a closer look.

“We ended up having our very own ‘meet the builder’ session and all the children got to climb on to the little digger.”

Mrs Reseigh said she was thrilled with the success of the morning: “All the children were over the moon and the whole thing just made our day.

“The Leadbitters’ builders were so kind to us and I would like to say a very big thank you from the whole nursery class.”
