The application was for change of use of St Joseph’s, Walton Road, along with nearby Blackbird Cottage, to provide Butlin’s team member accommodation for up to 90 team members.

The plans (BR/348/16/PL) also outline ‘on-site manager accommodation, two car parking spaces (one disabled space), a minibus parking space, a designated cycle store for 20 spaces, a designated bin store, smoking shelter and associated landscaping’.

A Butlin’s spokesman said: “This application forms a key part of our plans to build a new £36m swimming pool on the Bognor Regis resort, so we are naturally pleased to be able to progress – whilst of course continuing to consult with our neighbours and local residents every step of the way.”

It follows a similar project involving Ashley House, in Aldwick, which was approved in August, to create a HMO for 70 resort employees.
