CANINE Partners is getting set for one of its biggest events of the year.

This year’s summer show will take place on Saturday, July 5 and will have three fun events for families at the charity’s Heyshott headquarters.

There will be a summer show, dog show and after-show Motown evening featuring the Tamla Tigers.

In addition to live arena demonstrations showing how a canine partner helps someone who has a disability, there will be music, and an opportunity to buy crafts, cakes and Canine Partners merchandise.

Alongside a kids’ zone, bouncy castle, ice creams, barbecue, tombola and tours of the centre, there will be a chance to meet some of the charity’s newest recruits, as volunteer puppy parents bring along their pups-in-training to enjoy the fun.

Midhurst photographer Clive Bennet will be available to take portraits of any dogs, with proceeds going towards Canine Partners.

The 2014 event will also feature a Kennel Club-registered dog show which will be open to all breeds and abilities.

Dog show organiser Julie Graham said: “Everyone is welcome to join in with their dogs. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done it before or you enter dog shows all the time, it’s all about having fun with your dog.”

Local band the Tamla Tigers will play live 60s hits throughout the evening. Tigers’ bass player Pat Martin has recorded with Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmour while lead singer Sarah Geary has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

Jools Holland saxophonist Mike Paice will also take his place in the line-up for the final event of the day.

Tickets are available for indoor or outdoor seating and everyone is welcome to take along a picnic.

A licensed bar will be available courtesy of The Royal Oak pub.

Last year’s show raised more than £10k to support and train assistance dogs.

Entry to the show during the day is by donation.
