On Saturday, April 21, from 9am to 2pm, the car wash event will be held at Midhurst Fire Station on New Road Midhurst.

All funds will go to the hut renovation fund. Easebourne Scout and Guide hut is the home of two organisations and the base for 150 young people to enjoy a varied and exciting program of events every week. A routine electrical survey has highlighted that this 30 year old building is showing its age and that parts of the electrics are now so far out of date that the hut cannot be used until they are updated.

Funds will go directly to be spent on lighting, heating and security.

Until the work is completed, the groups are unable to use the hut.

Sue Parry, Petworth division commissioner, said: “We have been touched by the community spirit of Midhurst and Easebourne, from the little Brownie giving us her pocket money to all the other generous donations from individuals, children, committees and clubs, so thank you.

“We still have our target to reach and are looking at different ways of achieving this.

“We hope the support continues with this car wash.

“Cakes, bacon rolls and drinks available to buy while you wait!”
