Celebrations of both life and death in Littlehampton

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor joined with Bishop Kieran Conry and priests from across the diocese during a mass of thanksgiving.The convent’s chapel, in East Street, was filled with well-wishers and families of the three sisters, Delores Delaney, Xavier McNally and Susan Rudkin. Sister Delores was celebrating her diamond anniversary of being with the missionary while sister Xavier marked her golden anniversary and sister Susan her silver. Last month also saw the funeral of sister Gerard Murray, at Littlehampton Cemetery. Sister Gerard was 99 when she died, last month, having celebrated her oak 80th anniversary as a sister with the missionary, in March. Nine members of her family travelled from their homes in Dublin to be at her funeral.
