Chandlers’ plea to Petworth schools

A BUILDERS merchant wants Petworth schools to get involved with its £50k challenge for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The Chandlers £50k Challenge is in honour of Chandlers employee Rob Sadler, a cystic fibrosis sufferer, who will be having a double celebration during 2013.

He will mark 30 years of Chandlers employment, but more significantly his 50th birthday.

Those with cystic fibrosis are not expected to live beyond 30.

To help with the fundraising effort, Chandlers suggested schools could hold a sponsored walk, a sponsored silence, a cake sale, the children could pay £1 to wear their own clothes to school, or even their pyjamas to school for the day.

Simon Cook, Chandlers’ Petworth branch manager, is keen for the community to get involved.

“We are extremely proud supporters of our local community and have been involved with a number of different school projects over the past few years,” he said.

“Everyone at Chandlers has fully got behind the £50k Challenge and we hope that our local schools will as well helping to ensure that this is something that the whole area can be proud of.”
