Chichester supermarket incident - Person taken to hospital after collapsing in store

A person has been taken to hospital after collapsing at a supermarket in Chichester today (Friday, June 12).

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called shortly before midday today to reports a person had collapsed at Sainsbury’s on Westhampnett Road.

A spokesperson said: "Ambulance crews attended the scene and the patient was given emergency treatment before being taken to hospital."

In a statement at 3pm, a Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Our Chichester store was temporarily closed earlier today due to an incident and has now reopened.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
