FOLLOWING in the footsteps of Gareth Malone’s all-star choir, three youngsters from Fernhurst have produced their own Children in Need song.
They have written and performed their own composition entitled We are the Children on a new CD which is now for sale in Fernhurst shops for only £3.
The singing stars are Erin Haigh, who provides vocals, Eloise Atter, vocals and guitar, and James Atter who sings and plays the cello.
The project started when St Margaret’s Church Youth Group members wanted to raise funds for Children in Need.
After much discussion, they decided the best way would be to make a CD.
Choosing a song was more difficult, so they decided to write one themselves.
Producing the lyrics was the next task for them all and when Grace Barnsdale ‘versified’ it, We are the Children was born.
Help was available from one of the fathers, who had been a professional musician before he became the vicar.
So the Rev Nick Haigh stepped up to help with the music and had the equipment to be able to record the trio singing and playing the guitar, cello and organ.
