MIDHURST traders are revving up for the last two weeks of the Christmas shopping dash.
They have been working hard to attract Christmas visitors and keep their regular shoppers in town.
New on the agenda was the Black Tie Friday event when shoppers were served in some businesses by assistants in formal attire, even tiaras and ball gowns.
It was a bid to beat the black Friday chaos being experienced in other towns and cities.
Now they are gearing up for Midhurst Town Council’s Christmas Street Party tomorrow evening (Friday December 11) with many businesses open for late night shopping.
Chairman of the council John Etherington sent out a reminder that some of the roads in the centre of Midhurst will be closed to traffic from 3pm-11pm.
The closure will affect all of Knockhundred Row, Church Hill and Red Lion Street to South Street, Market Square and West Street from Rumbolds Hill to Red Lion Street.
“Please ensure no cars are parked in the road closure area from 3pm tomorrow so stalls and children’s rides can be set up in advance,” said Mr Etherington.
“We are grateful for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience you may be caused by the road closures.
“We are looking forward to another successful evening and hope you enjoy it.”
