Church flower festival a great success

A FLOWER festival has been declared a resounding success after raising around £1,500 for church funds.

The event '“ part of the Adur Festival '“ ran from Friday to Sunday, at St James the Less Church, in Manor Road, North Lancing, and attracted scores of visitors.

As well as flower displays, the festival featured stalls, a coconut shy, afternoon cream teas and other refreshments, including a fully licensed bar.

John Hacker, fund raising co-ordinator for the church, said: "We had a wonderful weekend. The weather was absolutely brilliant."

A raffle was drawn at the festival, and giant teddy bear Ted the Tiler was won by a member of the church's congregation.

Mr Hacker added he and Joy Wood, who organised the flowers at the festival, would like to thank everyone who supported the church over the weekend, including visitors, stall holders and helpers.
