Club's new venue

A SOCIAL club for adults with learning difficulties now has a new venue.

The Lewes Saturday club provides activities for people aged from 19 to 35 and offers essential respite for their families.

After making do with a training room for the past year the club will now be held at the recently refurbished MIND drop-in centre in Western Road.

Heather May, area manager of Southdown Housing Association which runs the club on behalf of Lewes MENCAP, told the Express: 'We're delighted. The MENCAP building is great because it has cooking facilities, a pool table, internet access and all sorts of other things.'

The club has been up and running for more than ten years and has been able to offer fun leisure pursuits and days-out for young people with learning difficulties.

The activities typically include the theatre, cinema, picnics or shopping.
