ONE of the biggest dates on the calendar at the Grange Leisure Centre in Midhurst is about to bring visitors in from all over the south of England.
It’s Collectomania time again and collectors with everything from liquid soap bottles to lawnmowers and dolls’ houses will be exhibiting with pride.
The extraordinary show celebrates its 30th anniversary tomorrow, Sunday, October 25, starting at 10am.
Originally started by Pat Bryant for the former Grange Centre across the car park which has now been bulldozed, the show has been run for the past 20 years by historian and collector Dave, Double LL Club.
It has always attracted exhibitors and visitors from all over the country and this year is no exception, with one collector coming from the Czech Republic.
“This year he is bringing his latest find,” said Dave, “which is a six-foot man trap along with other animal traps.”
For the children and some older children, there will be a display of models and an early electric railway layout.
Petrol cans, saws, hats, lawn mowers, domestic items and motoring memorabilia will fill the two large halls.
Showing at various times during the day will be a magic lantern show with moving slides and commentary.
