'COSTA BRAVA' SEAFRONT FLATS PROPOSAL FOR GORING TURNED DOWN

A SCHEME to build a block of flats with underground parking for 16 cars on Goring seafront has been described as more appropriate for Costa Brava.

The proposal for the prominent Marine Drive site was turned down by Worthing planners at their development control committee meeting last week after the development was deemed unduly dominant and incongruous.

The comment was made by Arlington Avenue resident Keith Burns at the meeting who added: "My objection is against suitability and character."

The scheme would have involved the demolition of 28 and 30 Marine Drive and Arlington Avenue residents.
