County news: Teenager '˜kicks pigeon to death'

Teenagers were spotted kicking pigeons in Sussex with one bird being hit so hard it had to be put down.

The language school students were reported to police at 1.30pm on Thursday (July 8) for enticing the birds with pieces of bread and then kicking out at them in Warrior Square Gardens, St Leonards.

One pigeon needed treatment for an injured wing at Sussex Coast Vets on London Road but it was later put to sleep due to its injuries.

Police were told by the students’ language school that action was being taken against them and consideration was being given to sending them home early.
