Cowdray polo chairman still in hospital after match injury
Chairman of the Cowdray Park Polo Club, Peter Barfoot is still in hospital after suffering serious injuries when he fell from his pony during a match at Ambersham.
He was playing with his Maiz Dulce team in the 1921 Cup on Saturday July 16 when the accident happened and was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Mr Barfoot, whose Bognor Regis based company is a major producer of exotic vegetables, is an experienced horseman.
A spokesman for the company told the Observer today (Wednesday July 27) “Mr Barfoot is still in hospital and is progressing as well as can be expected, but he still needs a lot of care due to the nature of his serious head and chest injuries.”
