Crash involving motorbike and car in Chichester

Emergency services were called to Market Road in Chichester this afternoon following a crash involving a motorbike and a car.

The crash happened in Market Road, Chichester.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said firefighters were called to the scene to free a motorcyclist who had become trapped under a car.

Fire crews from Bognor and Chichester were called to the incident at 4.30pm and had left by 5pm.

“One adult male was released by the fire service,” said a spokesman.

“Fire crews made the scene and vehicles safe before handing the incident over to Sussex Police.”

A spokesman for Sussex Police said no further information was available at this time.

All lanes have now reopened but there is still queueing traffic in both directions along the A286 Market Road, between the Basin Road junction and the A259 The Hornet junction (5.40pm).
