Caroline presented a special assembly to the whole school, supported by the OLQOH PhunkyFood Ambassadors, sharing the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, even over the festive season.

Children learned how healthy lifestyle includes regular exercise and a healthy diet, with everything allowed, in moderation. As part of her visit, Caroline spent time with Year 5 launching the Healthier Communities Project.

This project challenges primary school pupils to create an idea that addresses a social or environmental issue, focusing on health, nutrition, and wellbeing in their school or local community.

OLQOH Science Leader, Michael Watson, said: “This work provides us with a platform to teach children about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and how they can become positive change makers in their community.”Mr Watson hopes that some of OLQOH's entries will be accepted by the Phunky Foods judges, meaning pupils will have the opportunity to present their idea in a Dragons Den style event to local companies.

Deputy headteacher, Jan Miles, said: “OLQOH wishes the best of luck to all schools taking part in this competition.”Is your child due to begin school in September 2023? If so, applications to OLQOH are now open. To book to visit Our Lady's, based in Langley Green, please email [email protected] or call the Office Team on 01293 526057.
