Attempted burglary in Chichester sparks police appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Chichester.

The incident occurred at a flat in Longley Road between 10.30pm on Tuesday, August 9, and 8.30am the following morning, according to Sussex Police.

The suspect or suspects had entered the block containing flats 20 to 32, and tried to force the front door of one of the flats, but a security chain prevented them getting in, said police.

Detective constable Gavin Percival said: “If you saw anything at all, or saw anyone acting suspiciously, let us know.”
