A WOMAN has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, after a man was stabbed at a property in Selsey yesterday (Thursday, November 29).
Sarah Kenny, 23, of Western Road, Selsey, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court today (November 30).
Police received a report around 4.40am yesterday that a man had received several stab wounds to his back and legs.
It is believed the local man, who is in his 20s, had been inside an address in East Street, Selsey, with people known to him, when an argument took place and he was stabbed.
The victim suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, and remains in hospital.
A 25-year-old local man was also arrested for the same offence, but has been released with no further action taken.
Detective Sergeant Mark Williams of West Sussex Adult Protection Team said: “It is believed this was a targeted attack and that the victim knew his attacker.
“The incident took place inside an address in East Street, Selsey, in the early hours of this morning so residents may not have been aware that it had taken place.
“However, I would appeal for anyone who did hear or see anything unusual in the area to contact us.”
