Pensioner robbed whilst withdrawing money in Hastings - Three men arrested after 'awful attack'

Three people have been arrested after a 75-year-old woman was robbed at an ATM in Hastings, according to Sussex Police.

Police officers were called shortly after midnight on Tuesday (June 23) to a report of a robbery in London Road.

The 75-year-old victim had £300 in cash stolen whilst she was withdrawing money from an ATM, police said.

Police confirmed a 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of robbery at a property in St Leonards and remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Paul Elrick said: "This was an awful attack on a lone elderly woman who has been left shaken but thankfully unharmed.

"We are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the London Road area around the time of this incident to get in touch with us."

Anyone who witnessed what happened is urged to report it to police online or call 101, quoting serial 6 of 23/06.
