People appeal after Iping burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a house in Iping Lane, on Wednesday, June 29 when the suspects were disturbed by the home owner.

The burglars were in the process of searching the house at Iping, near Midhurst, when they were disturbed by the home owner who returned home just before 4pm after the alarm went off.

The offenders, described as two white men in their early twenties, ran out and jumped into a waiting pickup truck, containing a third man and escaped empty handed.

The truck is described as a clean white Toyota Hi-Lux or similar. It had four doors and a large chrome roll bar. The registration is believed to have started with something similar to HK65.

Det Con Gavin Percival said: “If you saw this vehicle or anything suspicious I would be grateful if you would contact me. I would remind everyone to remain vigilant to any suspicious behaviour especially in the more rural areas of the county.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting serial 1103 of 29/06 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (
