Police called to reports of ‘man with a gun’ in Eastbourne

Police were sent to reports of a man in possession of a gun in Eastbourne.

Officers rushed to a property in Croxden Way after receiving the call at around 9pm on Monday (July 6).

On arrival, they arrested a man on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place, said Sussex Police.

A search of the house was conducted and, while no firearm was found, police said officers found and seized nine cannabis plants.

Sussex Police said the man was further arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.

He was given a caution for the drugs offence, and was released without charge for the firearms offence, said police.
