Police investigate ‘racially aggravated’ dispute in Bexhill town centre

Two women have been interviewed under caution following a driving dispute in Bexhill.

At 3.50pm on Tuesday (April 21) police responded to a report of a driving dispute between the occupants of two cars which had just happened at Town Hall Square.

Police said a further altercation between them happened in Sea Road shortly afterwards.

Two women, aged 30 and 24, from one of the cars were traced and subsequently interviewed under caution.

Police said they were interviewed on suspicion of using racially aggravated words and behaviour towards a man aged 37 who had been driving the other car.

The 30-year-old woman was also interviewed on suspicion of common assault and of criminal damage to a pair of sunglasses, a police spokesman added.

There were no reports of injury or of other damage.
