UPDATE: 31-year-old man cut from car in A272 crash

A 31-year-old man has been cut from a car after it crashed on the A272 at Petworth.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, is said to have suffered ‘possibly serious but not life threatening injuries’ in the crash, which happened around 11am today (April 15).

The A272 near the junction with Kingspit Lane will be closed for around an hour (12.15pm) and traffic is building up as police turn people away from the incident.

Police, ambulance crews and firefighters are at the scene of the RTC.

Only one car was involved, having spun off the road before crashing and trapping the driver, at Kingspit Lane close to the A272 at Petworth.
