Warrant for the arrest of this Eastbourne man after several people attacked in town

Police have a warrant for the arrest of a man wanted in connection with an attack in Eastbourne.

Officers seeking Alex Evans have obtained a court warrant for the 27-year-old for breaching asuspended sentence in a previous case.

The search is on for Evans after three men and a woman were assaulted outside Cameo nightclub in Langney Road on Saturday, March 7.

The incident happened at about 3.15am and involved three men aged 18, 20, and 27 and a woman aged 18.

Police say the victims were attacked by a man who punched them and knocked them to the ground, rendering two of the men briefly unconscious.

Two of the men were taken to hospital for treatment, and the 20-year-old man was found to have a broken jaw.

Evans is described as white, of slim build, and about 6ft. He has dark brown hair and distinctive tattoos on his neck and ears.

On Monday (March 30) at Lewes Crown Court, a warrant was issued for Evans’ arrest, for failing to comply with a two-year suspended sentence on November 11, 2019, requiring 60 hours unpaid work, after he was convicted for theft from a shop.

Detective Constable Paul Kelly said; “We also want to speak to anyone who was in the area of the nightclub, perhaps leaving or standing outside at the time.

“If you have seen Alex Evans or know where he is, or if you have any other information please contact us online or call 101, quoting serial 177 of 07/03.”
