Woman who carried knuckleduster and assaulted police officer acquitted of drink-driving at Goodwood Revival

A woman who admitted carrying a knuckleduster and assaulting a police officer at the Goodwood Revival Festival has been acquitted of drink-driving.

Kayleigh Laws, 27, pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, in a public place, and assault by beating of an emergency worker at a hearing on July 1 at Worthing Magistrates’ Court.

The offensive weapon was named on the court listing as a knuckleduster.

Laws, from Bristol, was due to stand trial at Worthing Magistrates’ on Wednesday (December 16), having pleaded not guilty to an additional charge of drink-driving.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed Laws was acquitted of driving a Vauxhall Astra after 'consuming so much alcohol which exceeded the prescribed limit'.
