Cups of kindness served by businessman to support Rwandan trip

David Chace, owner of Chace Catering, based in Mewsbrook Park, is doing his bit to raise much-needed cash to purchase education supplies for The Littlehampton Academy students' mercy mission to the African country, in June.

He launched a special two week-long fund-raising effort at his café in the park on Saturday (February 16), which generated more than £100 in the first two days alone.

David, whose daughter Rebecca went on a similar expedition four years ago, said: “The main thing I am passionate about is getting our young people out of their comfort zone in their bedrooms and into the real world.

“None of the cash is going to funding their trip – they’re doing that all by themselves. So all the money will go to helping the children in Rwanda.”

He added his daughter said her trip to Ethiopia was “life-changing”.

David is offering 20p off all his hot drinks, with 50p made on every sale going straight to the charity appeal.

The offer will run until March 3.

Paul Sanderson, the academy’s chaplain, said: “David’s offer will make a huge difference.”
