Fiona Scully, community and learning ranger at Woolbeding Countryside, said: “This is always a really popular and fun event.

“It’s great to be able to meet local people and their dogs and put on an event that is a little bit different.

“There’s also a serious side to the day too – we often have issues of sheep worrying on the South Downs, and dogs can also disturb ground nesting birds with their vulnerable nesting seasons.

“So this event is a brilliant way of working with local dog walkers and other visitors, and talking about these issues in a fun and informal way.”
