Dog survives horror attack

The incident happened when Boxer dog Bobby was being walked along the road that lead through the bird reserve at the Harbour.

Owner Victoria Hatcher, of Penstock Terrace, said: “Bobby was being walked by my step-son when a vehicle with two men in it drove by and there were three lurcher dogs running beside it.

“They attacked Bobby and tore him to pieces. He was ripped and in a terrible state.

“We took him to the vet but we were not certain at all that he was going to survive.

“That was two weeks ago now and Bobby is much better and on the mend, but I have heard that these lurchers have been involved in other attacks on dogs and I wanted to warn people.”

Mrs Hatcher says the incident is now being investigated by police.
