DRIVER DIED AFTER CAR HITS TREE
A DRIVER died after suffering serious head injuries when his car hit a tree.
David Bamford (25) of Chichester area died in St Richard's Hospital, Chichester after he was cut from the wreckage of his car at Merston near Chichester on Saturday. Fire crews cut him free from his silver Vauxhall. He was the only occupant of the car which crashed in Drayton Lane at 7.15pm. Any witnesses are asked to contact Sussex police.
* Meanwhile a local woman was left in a critical condition after her blue Ford Fiesta hit a treeon the A284 at Madehurst, near Arundel on Sunday at 8pm.
The road, near Whiteways roundabout, was closed for some time while the driver, in her fifties, was released from the car and taken to St Richard's Hospital.
