A DOG from Ebernoe has beat off competition from around the world to be crowned best Post Graduate Bitch Class in her breed at Crufts.
Field Spaniel Sonnetend in Touch with Coverwell, otherwise known as Prudence, won Best Puppy in her Breed in 2013 and returned this year to win again.
The black spaniel is just two years of age but already has a number of accolades under her collar.
Throughout the last year she has been successful and among other awards, won the Reserve Bitch Challenge certificate at the East of England Championship Show.
Delighted owner Janet Ford says Prudence is the ‘happiest’ dog she has ever owned.
“I have qualified with a dog at Crufts every year for 30 years,” said Janet.
“It’s a lucky competition for me. Prudence is now training to be a gun dog, but she’s very head strong!
“She was bred by a couple in Yapton, so she’s very much a Sussex girl. The breeders also had a best puppy in breed this year.
“Spaniels are a delightful breed and Prudence is just happy when she’s around people and children. Hopefully she will be having puppies soon.”
