Elderly couple find intruders in their home

The unwelcome guests fled after they were discovered in the property at Whatlington Way, Whatlington, just before 6pm on Monday January 2.

Police believe the man and woman were intending to burgle the house, but are thought to have escaped empty-handed after they were disturbed.

The man was described as very tall, whilst the woman was said to have dark hair and was wearing red shoes at the time of the offence.

The pair are believed to have fled the scene in a small red car, possibly a Citroen.

The elderly residents were not injured in the incident.

It is not yet clear how the intruders managed to get into the property.
