Emsworth youngster takes part in Solent trip after beating cancer

A YOUNGSTER who was given the all clear from cancer has taken part in an epic four-day sailing adventure around the Solent.

Dylan Prior, 11, from Emsworth took part in a sailing trip with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, along with 25 other young people between the age of eight and 18 in recovery from cancer.

Dylan, who finished cancer treatment in 2011 for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at Southampton General Hospital, said: “I enjoyed spending time with other people who have been through the same.

“It’s like we are a community and everyone looks after you.

“My favourite bits of the week have been meeting new friends, and doing stuff I never thought I would do.”
