More than 60 homes in Midhurst are still without electricity after Southern and Scottish Electricity Network (SSEN) wires came down this morning (Thursday, February 23) when strong winds blew across the area in the wake of storm Doris.

An SSEN spokesman said homes lost power just after 8am today when the electrical wire, which served 856 homes, was blown down.

“65 of these homes are still without electricity but we hope it will be restored by 1pm today,” she said.

“We’d like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience and thank them for their patience as engineers work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.”
