The latest batch of new homes in Midhurst is well on the way to completion.
The 17 houses on the corner of Lamberts Lane have emerged after the demolition at the start of the year, of the derelict former Midhurst Grammar School buildings behind the South Downs National Park headquarters.
The administration block and the single storey classroom buildings became redundant when the new Midhurst Rother Academy opened in 2009.
The new homes are set to be completed later this summer and together with more homes nearing completion in the old courthouse building off Grange Road, will provide much needed homes in Midhurst.
The plans for Lamberts Lane had been in the pipeline for more than three years as Oakford Homes negotiated the number of homes acceptable with planning officers.
The developers originally wanted to build a total of 20, but this has been reduced by three.
The brick and flint wall to the north side of the site facing Lamberts Lane, has been retained, but reduced in height and will have gate openings.
A linking footpath is planned to the south east corner of the site with access from the site to North Street.
