EXPRESS STORE SET FOR OLD GARAGE SITE

PLANS for the former Caffyns garage to be transformed into a Tesco Express shop were approved 'in principle' by Seaford Town Council on Thursday last week.

The application was discussed at length with many councillors welcoming the idea.

In addition to the change of use the application includes a proposal to build a two bedroom flat at roof level. There are already a number of occupied flats above the garage in Sutton Park Road.

A number concerns were raised, including shop opening times, the movement of delivery lorries and loss of pavement. It is believed the shop will be open from 6am to midnight.

The final decision rests with district council planners.
