Festival of Speed: Saturday preview

Saturday's programme of events looks set to rival Friday's high octane action.

The track opens at 8.45 with action on the hill. The forest rally stage will open at 9.30am.

The ever-popular GAS arena show will set the pulse racing at 10.30am. With a huge fleet of bikes, safety kit and the country’s leading instructors on hand, the zone represents one of the UK’s biggest opportunities to get active on two wheels.

One of the most bizarre and memorable race cars to tackle the Festival of Speed hill climb is the distinctive 1923 Voisin C6 Laboratoire which first wowed the crowds in 1998. The car is set complete the hill climb twice today (Saturday, 13)

Supercars will take to the hill at 12.40pm, which is a sight not to be missed. In association with Michelin, the supercar run exhibits the very latest and best Supercars from all around the world. Around 50 cars will be in action on the hill, including UK debuts from Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti and Jaguar. The Rolls Royce Wraith will also take to the hillclimb, in a repeat of yesterday’s breath-taking performance.

A Vulcan air display will take place at 1pm.

A rally celebrating 20 years of the festival will take place at 1.25pm. Goodwood plans to recapture many of the festivals outstanding moments from 1993, whether it’s great cars from the USA making a rare return, or famous driver pairings reunited.

A GAS arena show will take place at 4pm.

The forest rally stage will close at 4.30pm and the hill climb will close at 6.35pm.
