Final chance for voters to quiz Bognor's election candidates

A FINAL opportunity is being given to voters tonight to quiz the three main parties standing in Bognor after they pulled out of a key pre-election debate due to a BNP candidate appearing.

Tonight (Wednesday, May 5) MP Nick Gibb has organised the meeting at the Picturedrome Cinema between himself, Labour candidate Michael Jones and Liberal Democrat Simon McDougall with just hours before the polls open.

Hugh Coster, Deputy Chairman of the Civic Society, which organised the previous debate on Saturday, April 24, has confirmed a letter rebuking the three main parties for not attending the meeting has now been issued.

More than 250 people attending the Regis Centre debate had expressed their concern and voted to send the letter to those who did not attend- who cited party and personal policy for withdrawing.

The other three candidates, UKIP's Douglas Denny, the BNP's Andrew Moffat and independent parliamentary hopeful Melissa Briggs have not been invited to tonight's meeting, which starts at 7pm.
