Firefighters tackle blaze at 16th century home
Firefighters spent more than two hours tackling a blaze at a 16th century property last night (Monday October 12).
Crews were called to Skiff Lane in Wisborough Green at 9.45pm.
A spokesman for the fire service said the fire broke out in the roof of the home and the property was well alight when firefighters arrived.
The spokesman added 75 per cent of the roof was damaged by the blaze and 50 per cent of the ground floor was damaged by water.
Three crews from Horsham, Petworth and Billingshurst were sent to the scene and extinguished the fire using two hose reels, two water jets and eight breathing apparatus.
Crews left at 12.20am (Tuesday October 13) and the fire is being treated as accidental.
