WORSHIPPERS at St Margaret’s Church, Fernhurst, gathered for a farewell party for the vicar, the Rev Tony Rockey.
Rev Rockey has now moved to Devon and left the Church.
Mr Rockey and his wife Sally arrived in the parish two years ago from Cockermouth, Cumbria, where he had been curate.
During his time in Fernhurst, he helped push along the project for a parish room, joined helpers at the village youth club and regularly visited other clubs.
Speaking of his departure from the ministry, Mr Rockey said: “It is the right thing for us.”
