The former Boardwalk will become new retail, flats and townhouses

The site at the top of the high street is currently being cleared and will make way for three new retail units on the ground floor.

Four ‘exceptional’ new four-bedroom townhouses will also be built, alongside two one-bed and two two-bed apartments with ‘each home finished to an exceptional standard’, according to Tod Anstee Hancock, the consultants for the property.

The Boardwalk, which featured shops like Gorgeous, Crew, Manuka Wholefoods, Classix clothing and Cafe Paradiso, closed at the end of 2015.

The shops moved out at the end of 2015

Some of the shops have relocated to other sites around the city.
